Our Mountains

The Tiroler Zugspitz Arena is located between four impressive mountain ranges: the Wetterstein Mountains, the Mieminger Kette, the Lechtal Alps and the Ammergau Alps.
Below you will find a list of our most beautiful, spectacular, highest and most scenic mountains. Of course, we have many more mountains here in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, skiing and much more.

Zugspitze

2.962m a.s.l.

The Zugspitze, a rock massif in a class of its own. As the mighty peak of the Wetterstein massif, it is a unique element in the landscape of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena and awakes mountaineers' dreams with its rugged rock faces. The first ascent took place on August 27, 1820 by Josef Naus, Johann Georg Tauschl and the sacristan's assistant Maier. Whether on foot, for experienced mountaineers, or with the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn, those who reach the summit can marvel at a panorama of over 400 Alpine peaks in four countries.

Here you can find detailed information about the Zugspitze adventure location.

Sonnenspitze

2.417m a.s.l.

Pointy, angular and absolutely impressive, the Sonnenspitze towers over the Ehrwald, Lermoos and Biberwier basin.
The mountain owes its name to its summit, which is one of the last to be illuminated by the sun in the evening.

Thaneller

2.341m a.s.l.

A panoramic summit at its finest. The peak of the Thaneller is situated high above Heiterwang with a wonderful view over Berwang and the turquoise Heiterwanger See. An absolute viewing highlight in our Tyrolean mountains.

Grubigstein

2.233m a.s.l.

The Grubigstein, with its panoramic views and cable cars, invites young and old to enjoy all kinds of outdoor fun in winter and summer. Skiing, hiking, mountain biking and a stop at one of the typical Tyrolean huts make for a sporty and enjoyable day out.
The Grubigstein also offers one of the best views of the Zugspitze!
